How Do You Get Paid?

Smooth Transitions pays you as an Independent Contractor on an hourly basis depending on the number of infants you are caring for. If you are working with a family with one infant you will be paid $13 per hour. Twins are $17 per hour and Triplets are $21 per hour. We do not take taxes, social security or medicare out of your check. It is your responsibility to take out the appropriate percentage based on your personal situation and pay the IRS directly. The main reason we bring on Newborn Care Specialists as Independent Contractors is that we want you to have complete control over your schedule and the families you work with. We want you to be happy about working with our families and go to work knowing you are making a difference in their lives because you are a good match and enjoy being with them. We also know that your life can change because of school and/or family commitments. If you want to work a full-time schedule during part of the year and then switch to part-time, that is fine with us. We only ask that you keep your commitment to any families you have already been scheduled with and communicate your plans as soon as possible.
